Three's A Company - featuring Tri-Angles
by Joanne Chua, 1 Dec 2006
Their clients include celebrity couples such as Pierre Png and Andrea De Cruz and Glenn Ong and Jamie Yeo, along with offspring of tycoons and ministers, but Tri-Angles Photography insists it does not serve only the rich, stylish and famous.
In fact, most of those who drop by their studio in the Jalan Besar area are the "average Singaporean who use our services because they like what they see and hear", says Triston Yeo, one of Tri-Angles' three lensmen.
Triston founded the company with fellow photographer Hilarion Goh, both UK registered master photographers, four years ago. Besides indoor and outdoor wedding photography, each also boasts extensive experience in overseas wedding photography. Their combined experience of more than 20 years also includes a diverse array of wedding ceremonies across different religions and races.
These days - Triston and Hilarion subsequently recruited another photographer Julian Lee - Tri-Angles prides itself on its high level of commitment to their clients. And with bookings as far as two years ahead, the trio is clearly evoking much satisfaction among newlyweds. Their secret to success is deceptively straightforward: ensure transparency in costs while maintaining a good understanding of clients' needs and tastes.
Couples who are attracted to "unique", "exclusive" and "customised" will be delighted to know that Triston and company thrive on new challenges. That is, as long as they feel it is in line with a client's needs and personality. It is afterall, their responsibility as professionals to share with and advise the client on the most appropriate way to highlight the most important day of his or her life, reasons Triston.
Wedding photography services at Tri-Angles are categorized into pre-wedding album and actual day wedding photography. Couples should ensure their bridal outfits, hair and make-up artists and other relevant services are ready before placing a booking. But if you're stumped, the helpful threesome will be more than happy to link you up with trusted partners.
A wedding-day photography package starts at $1,888, which comes with at least 300 photos to keep. A pre-wedding photography package starts at $1800, with 20 pieces of 8" by 12" photos in an album.
It may cost a bit more, but the quality makes it value for money, assures Hilarion. "We are committed to work within the client's budget. We do not hide any cost from clients, so they do not receive a shock at the final billing," he adds.
One important lesson about being wedding photography professionals is relationship-building, points out Hilarion. Helping to tell the love story and union of two individuals means he and his colleagues have built strong bonds with clients, many of whom become their friends. It is this friendship that pushes them to go the extra mile for many clients. "There were a handful for whom we even helped buy digital camera and even media cards and even extra batteries for their honeymoon," remembers Hilarion with a laugh.
