As it has always been, Amanda Lee Couture continues to reinvent the sweet, feminine details of typical wedding gowns, pushed boundaries and had all eyes on the runway. With Harry Winston jewellery and scene-stealing gowns, “less is more" is not a concept that is synonymous with this show, and of course, it doesn’t fail to impress.

When Lee first started out, she was keen to shake up the wedding scene in Singapore, after having gone to numerous wedding shows where the gowns were simply a replica of one another – and shake up the scene, she has.

The show opens with bursts of colour, and the pieces exude sensuality fused with charm. Lee makes full use the cut-out trend that is rocking runways all over world and amalgamates it into her couture dresses: bare-backed, plunging necklines, cut-out sides – all still oozing of understated glamour.

In an interview with Amanda on Singapore Brides.com, she expressed that "coming out [and setting up her own wedding couture line] would allow me more freedom in many aspects of designing, such as expression through fabrics … and paying more attention to details."

Attention to details and strong curves were exactly what stood out throughout her collection; something a lot of designers seem to miss. Lee’s expertise for intricate beading details and embroideries weren’t missed, even if you sat on the last row. Much thought has been put into the embroidery details, whether it is at the bust, or around the waist, Lee enhanced the feminine silhouette almost effortlessly.
