Hi Carol and all BTBs who are considering TW,

My gowns are from TW and just had my wedding. Looking at the hours Ted and team had spent on my gowns, the numerous fittings, his eyes for perfection, extraordinary embriodery skills and most importantly the rapport we have built with Ted, Jean and Maggie over the last 6 months, all I want to say is the money is well spent.

Wearing his gowns on our big day has given us the greatest heartwarming memories. Thank you Ted, Jean and Maggie. You guys have done a fantastic job, not only in transforming me into a charming bride, but also a couple who deeply appreciate all the things you have done for us.

Cheers!

Hi girls,

I only remember the basic package is $3500 for MTM WG (rental) + MTM EG (keep). Not sure if the price went up.

If you want make-up + bouquet + car deco etc etc, i think it used to be $4200++, think the price went up too. Not sure abt PS.

Sorry not much of a help here cos i only went for the basic package.

Its better to call up Jean or maggie at Ted Wu to check.

Chris is a great photographer to work with. Very patient and fast in snapping. He has his own style and u need to like his style to appreciate his work. Suggest u give Chris Ling a call to view his work.

Hi Ger,

I'll suggest u call Jean or Maggie at 6327-1241 to make an appt to try the gowns and discuss the packages. Nothing beats wearing the gowns yourself. They are itemising their charges which is ideal for couple who wish to pick and choose items they need.

Cheers!

WG (MTM) - $2900 onwards
EG (MTM) - $1600 onwards

if u want both, can take the package (WG + EG) - $3980

if OTR, deduct $500 from $3980.

Men's suit (MTM) - $600 onwards

flower - $350

MUA - $900 onwards

PS - $1600 onwards

i think TW is suitable for those who prefer ala carte. for me, i prefer full package including mua, ps and florist.

Hi Ger,

I think there may be some slight adjustment in prices, however, how they work basically is still the same. They take out what U dont need.

I'm a fussy BTB so prefer ala carte where I can choose my vendors rather than packaged styles where I cant choose the best people to work with. =)

Depends on what one's after.

Hi Glamourous, i agree with you. But i m the kind who prefer a reputable BS who can provide all my needs. :-)

TW price is way above my budget. Even if i'm willing to pay for the package, there are still some items need to top up. i guess i hv to give it a miss liao :-(

Hi Ashes,

Well I guess we need to do a fair comparison. Based on Ted's dedication and his flair for embrioderies, the price he's charging is reasonable.

Have you tried his gown? If not, may I suggest you give a call to Maggie/ Jean (Ted's wonderfull staff) at 6327 1241 to make an appt to try his gowns. His work speaks for itself.

Cheers!

Hi Junegirlie,

You may refer to the Style Wedding Magazine for Sept issue. The upcoming issue will feature the finalists of the Style Wedding Beautiful Couple 2008 and 2 couples are from Ted Wu and you can see their gowns.

As for the level of service which I received from Ted, Jean and Maggie, just one word - excellent!

Hi,

Has anyone seen the latest issue of Her World Brides ? I am interested in working with my shortlisted bridal shops :

a. Ted Wu
b. Bridal Veil
c. Emanuel B. - my best friend's bridal shop for this June and her wedding gown was stunning crystal beaded.

Just saw Ted's package price - a little expensive tho. Still will pay a visit to look at the workmanship.

Anyone has Bridal Veil's packages ? Errh should I post here ? ha ha. Maybe I will post at Bridal Veil instead later.

As for Emanuel B. - I quite like the wedding gown on Her World Brides. Simple and elegant. There was mention of "Sale" as well ? Anyone visit already ? Can share with me ? Maybe I will arrange to go with my friend ?

Looking to any responses or afterthoughts. Am quite green horn ? hee hee

Hmm... TW package has really gone up a lot...

We paid about 5.1K for MTM (WG + EG), flowers, MU, Photography.

But then again that was late 2004 and it was also considered expensive too

Hi Roy,

Thank you for the inform. Wah a little beyond my budget leh !!

Anyway today I visited Emanuel B. with my girlfriend (their ex bride) and I am totally in love with Emanuel's gowns.

They are beautifully made and the pricing is within my budget. More importantly I like their gowns and the diversity Elaine could offer. Also my hubby is comfortable with them too.

Funnily enough, my girlfriend who is supposed to be my support - managed to buy a sale gown herself. Ha ha. But she is cropping it short like a cocktail dress.

Will start work with Elaine next month - a little early for next year wedding but Elaine said the tailoring could start later.

So thanks for the info again. Hey you should take a look at Emanuel's sales gowns - worth every cent. Ha ha. Cheryl

Would like to share my experience with Ted Wu bridal. Had my wedding last Nov and signed up package with TW. I really love my WG though it s chosen off the rack. Most of the gown from off the rack is worn only once. As for my EG, it s also very pretty. Both my hubby and I always looking forward to meet Ted during the process of MTM of EG. He is very funny and provides excellent service. Even his team are very professional and provides good service.

The package there may not be cheap coz it s really good quality material and very good tailoring works.

Till today, still remember my lovely WG. =)

Hi Junegirlie,

Great to hear that you have chosen Ted and you are defintely in his good hands. So u are having your 1st appt with him next week?

Ted is very good at listening and understanding bride's needs. Hehe, he knows I like ribbon and I have a nice ribbon added to my WG. I had my wedding in March 08 and I am still thinking of my gown till today!

Enjoy the process and I am sure you will find lots of joy and satisfaction in seeing your dream gown done up. :-)

Hi Junegirlie,

The WG can be purchased at an additional cost. I can't really remember the figure but it should be around $600. You can check with Jean/Maggie again.

Are you getting both the WG and EG MTM? The 1st appt is a "get to know the couple" session where Ted will try to understand the style and likes of the couple. I found the session fun. :-)

Enjoy!

Hi Glamourous,

Both my WG and EG are MTM from Ted.

If you take OTR gown, it will be a couple of hundreds cheaper but my hubby and I decided to go for MTM in the end as he really wanted a WG that is meant for me.

We have never regretted taking MTM. In fact we are discussing that we would regret if we have opted for OTR. My family and friends complimented both my gowns are "so me and my style" which justified our decision.

Cheers!

Hi Glamourous,

My WG is a ballgown in duchess satin. But it is not over elaborated with a long tail and I took a smaller 'kan kan'.

Mine is a translucent bare back with nice embroideries and of course he added my favourite ribbon to my gown! (I am crazy over ribbons . . keke)

Have you decided to take MTM or OTR? What type of gown do you like? :-)

Cheers!

Hi Veracity,

Hope my response is not too late for you as I was away for honeymoon. Ted's forte is his flare for embriodery. Personally I feel the main distinction between his gowns and others is his embrioderies & beadings give a very complete feel. It is common to see gowns with embrioderies/beadings only at the top or bottom of the gown. It gives a very 'scattered' feeling. On the contrary, Ted's gown has this nice 'flow' of embrioderies/beadings and togther with his excellent skills, it gives people a WOW feeling.

It is not fair to compare his prices with bridal shops that offer an all-in-1 package. I believe the price we pay reflects the quality and work behind the making of our dream gown.

No harm going down to Ted's shop to try their gowns. They never hard sell. I personally went to Ted Wu and 5 other shops (of different levels)to try their gowns before signing the package. This gives you the opportunity to 'calibrate' the standards.

Cheers!

Hi all,

Want to share my experience with Ted Wu Bridal.. only one word - excellent!

During my first appt with Ted, I had so many ideas and I showed him so many pictures of designs I like. He made the effort to note down everything I like and when he showed us the final designs he had for us, I was wowed as he managed to incorporate everything I like into both the WG and EG. So I had the best of everything!!! :-)

It was so fun to see how my gowns evolve... I looked forward to every fitting as my gowns get prettier and prettier. His embroidery works is very good and intricate. Ted is also very fun to be with... He will teach me how to pose, so that my FH can take pictures of me in my gowns at each fitting... at times, the photos my FH took din turn out very well, so Ted will always offer to take the pics... each fitting is very enjoyable. :-)

The thing that really touch my heart was the fact that Ted made the effort to rush out the alteration for my EG in time for my photo shoot. What happened was that my photo shoot got brought forward by a day from Tuesday to Monday. The Saturday before the shoot, I went to the bridal studio to collect my gowns and realise that the EG is a little too loose. It was close to 5pm at that time and all the seamstress had knocked off. They do not work on Sunday and will only be in on Monday at 9am... which is the time for my photo shoot!!!

Instead of scolding me for not informing them of the change in date earlier, Ted was very kind and told me not to worry... they will rush out the alterations by Monday morning and deliver the gowns to the photo studio by 10.30am.

At 10.30am on Monday, the alterations was done and Ted delivered the gowns personally to the photo studio. He also hang around until I changed into my gowns... just to make sure everything is in place.

I am very impressed by his professionalism and touched by his willingness to go the extra mile just to ensure my photo shoot goes on as planned. Apparently, the seamstresses had to come in earlier just to work on my gown...

Through this whole incident, I came to realise that it is so important to work with a designer who is responsible, professional and who takes pride in his work. Ted is one such person and I will like to take this chance to thank him for making me a pretty WG and a dazzling EG. I can't wait to show off the gowns on my big day. :-)

Oh yes... Ted's suits are very good too! The cut is good and the material used is excellent. My FH looks so good in it! :-)

Will also like to take this chance to thank Maggie and Jean for all the advice and help they gave me. :-)

To all brides to be, do drop by Ted Wu Bridal for a chat. U won't regret it!

Hi ladies

I recommend Ted Wu as my best friend had her gown tailored there. I absolutely love the gorgeous details - beading and embroidery - on her gown. Although hers was a simple gown, Ted took the extra effort to make it special and one-of-a-kind. All who turned up at her wedding complimented my best friend on her lovely gown.

As I'm one who likes beading and embroidery, I'm definitely going (or rather booked) a package with Ted Wu. Iom paying $3980 for WG (MTM - rent) & EG (MTM - keep). MY HTB is also tailoring his suit there for an extra $600. We sure like the look of the male models, so we decided to go ahead with the groom's suit.

Ted's flair is for embroidery and the service offered by Jean is great! She explained everything clearly to us and advised us on which package to take. There's no hard-selling and neither was she pushy. She's also great to talk to and explain your concerns and requests. I have not gone for my fitting yet, prob in July next yr as my AD is in Dec 09. However, I must say I enjoyed the sessions when I accompanied my best friend there for her fittings.

As for flowers, photography, MUA, each has its own package. I'm taking flowers and photography from elsewhere. MUA will probably be from Ted Wu, the same guy my best friend used.

I agree with dopeydodo. I just went for my second appointment with him to see his proposed designs for my WG and EG and I was floored. His designs were brilliant and I was even speechless at a point!

His signature embroidery is woven through the designs and it all just comes together beautifully, even after incorporating your own style and likes/dislikes.

Worth every cent I'm paying :-)

Hi KaiStarz

On the 1st appt, Ted will go through a series of questions to understand your preferred style, design and colour. If you have a design in mind, do share with him. Let him know your likes and dislikes too.

Cheers!

Hi ALL,

I've signed with Yu Hsin from Tinydot Photography for my Pre Wedding Shoots in Paris, For Period between May 17 to May 24, 2009.

Im looking for another keen couple to share and split the cost of the Makeup artist's service fees, flight ticket and accomodation.

Any keen parties for Pre Wedding, Wedding or Post Wedding shoots in Paris during the above mentioned period?

Let me know if you are genuinely keen.
Can PM or email me at glamourous2309@gmail.com to discuss further, Thanks!

jasmine > ted's gown are very beautiful. i was at his shop 2 days back and love all his gowns. His staff, Jean is very patient and provided a wonderful bs shopping experience for me.

Ted does lace too, for full lace you will have to top up. if you really want lace, why dun you check out margaret brides?

hi ying ying/ angie..
ted wu's gowns (MTM WG and EG - to keep) are 3980. men's suit is 800 onwards. flowers by greenpoint is 450. makeup artist is 900 - 1300 dependng on which MUA you are using. suggest that you make appt to go down to ted wu to look at the gowns. pics dun do justice to his gowns.
