I'm one of her customer. I engaged her for my ROM as my MUA.
I liked her makeup very much. very natural and professional.
I liked her personally cos she's friendly thru out the process, even my hubby also like her to do for his hairstyle. |

Wow, Liren is really expensive! Didn't know AD's makeup could be so expensive.. anyone who used her before can tell me what cosmetic she uses?
I told my htb about the rates, he asked if she use super expensive things.. like "LaMer" muahaha |

hi everyone, i'm just wondering if there are any recent brides out there who engage liren as their mua?
from the past posts here, i've read quite a few unpleasant experiences brides encountered with liren & am re-thinking if i should call her up to discuss about her make up service on my wedding day. 
and is it possible to bargain with her on the pricing, as it was commented by some that her charges are abit too steep.

Hi kidnomore, Liren is actually negotiable about her pricing. I spoke to her about this, and she said actually if you talk to her about your budget, most likely she will say ok. She allowed me to use my trial for AD for my ROM (add $100 for her to do house call) |

oic, cool.
initially i though wanna engage liren for both our pre-wedding as well as AD shoot make up de coz maybe both service together, she might give discounts..  but judging at the rates she quoted, i guess even with discounts, the diff also won't be a lot.. so after much discussion with htb, we've decided that we won't be engaging liren liao.
u gals enjoy yr wedding preparation, whatever yr decisions are, i'm sure you all will turn out to be pretty pretty brides!

I just engaged Liren for my outdoor shoot. She followed us to the first 2 locations and for the third change, we went to her studio because there wasn't a suitable place to touch up at the last location.
It's not a problem if your photographer provides transport. In fact, we enjoyed the aircon at her studio because it was so hot that day ;p
She was very nice and gave me a lot of tips for my photoshoot. Eg, she asked me to bring a pair of sneakers so i don't have to walk all day in my heels, asked my fiance to bring a few shirts to change (luckily she did so because it was very hot and his first shirt was soaked with sweat!)
She also bought us a burger because she was worried we would be hungry.
The feeling she gave me was she wasn't there to just do my makeup, collect the fees, and go off. She really tried to make my photoshoot a more comfortable experience.
She'll also ask if I like the hairstyles she's giving me for each change. I think that is very important because i don't want to end up with something I don't like on my head and in my photos!

Hi girls! My big day is finally over!:-) I, too, had engaged Liren for my PS and AD and have written positive comments on her since my PS in Dec 08. You can google blog+bobby leong and ours will be the first couple u see.;-) All in all, i requested for a Simple and Elegant look and i am happy to share that she did just that, added some glamour!;-)
At first glance, her charges seemed expensive but i can assure you that Liren is thoroughly professional, sincere and friendly. Even my hubby finds her extremely personable.:-)

Liren uses mac products for the makeup which I feel
is very harsh for the skin. I tried her trial makeup. In the end, I chose sandy chen instead. The latter uses shu uemura products which gave me a much natural look. My hubby like sandy services too. But I feel they are quite similar. Very direct personality and will remind you to take care of your skin for a much flawless and natural look. All my friends love my makeup that day. |

i tried Liren for my PS last year -- very good... she really did a good job in balancing my big small eyes! and i have already booked her for my coming AD, her makeup is pretty natural too... she's a confident lady, be it in her personality or makeup skill, which is why she doesn't really suggest/oblige in going thru a trial makeup before your confirmation etc... |

I encountered the worst experience on my wedding day,ruined my night, thanks to my MUA-Liren. She not only insensitive,with attitude problem. she actually tapped me(the bride)from the back ,in the mid of the dinner, saying that she had to do my 2nd make-up, which she should be communicate with my wedding planner(Elena) instead. As you should know a bride dont usually wear watch.She then told me that she is hungry. Well, that shocked me i thought an experienced MUA(as she claimed) she should know on the wedding day,to be delayed its comman,its either you have something to eat become you come or you tell somebody (waiter/sisters/wedding planner etc..),but definately not the bride. You are not the VIP neither a child. This is a big TABOO.All the bride-to-be out there,please think twice if you like a nice, considered MUA, who can interact well and respect the videographer,photographer ,by not acting like she is SOMEBODY IMPORTANT, with bad attitude ,who wont ruined your big day .Ms Liren definately not the one you should choose. |

Being in the industry for over 15 years, ensuring customer satisfaction and exceeding expectations has always been my top priority.
It is with regret that miscommunication has caused a less than ideal experience for you. As agreed upon with Elena your wedding planner when we met up only 9 days before your wedding day, I have given you a very special promotional rate comprised of 4 hours of makeup service, even though my schedule for the day is already planned. However, on the actual day, I have stayed there for over 6 hours, which would have dragged on further if not for gentle intervention.
A less than professional person would have left, especially when the wedding planner and bridal party is not reachable despite repeated attempts. I have chosen to stay on despite prior commitment elsewhere and fulfilled the required makeup service to your satisfaction.

In your receipt clearly stated "stay back change image", we did not agree on 4 hours of make up service.I can scan and post the receipt if you want.Anyway as long as you accepted the job ,you have to do it in a professional way ,not a discounted way just because you give me a "Special Rate".And also let me tell you if all the wedding is running on time ,it will not call a wedding ,it will call a Army Camp schedule.So your advise is as good as nothing.On the other hand i have a advise for you,save your attitude for your student , do not treat every bride like your student,we are your client ,let me remind you of that.One simple thing to learn is be generous and nice when you are working on this trade,culculative and arrogant is definately not the way to do it. |

oh my goodness, that is so unprofessional service! I feel for you belinda, the last thing any married couples would want is for anyone to spoil the big day & I totally agree with what you said that no wedding is running on time, unless the married couples are prepared to chase away their guests!
i'm sorry to rub salt to your wound, but now i'm so glad i didnt engage liren's service on my wedding day, & i remember pple saying her charges are not cheap?
and yes, abit of an advice here & there may be good, but at the end of the day, we are still the client who's paying the $, and it's not a few dollars we are talking about, so hopefully your msg can help all other brides-to-be to be more mindful on the agreed terms with their MUA.

i agree that it seems like the wedding planner is not doing a good job.
i think that it is good to be able to take care of your photogs n mua on your wedding day, even though they are working for you, they are also people.
but should be done by the bridesmaids n helpers, or in this case the wedding planner. |

Juz checked the voucher. It DID NOT INDICATE that voucher is not transferrable.
I think it is extremely UNREALIABLE when vouchers given out by your establishment changes terms & conditions.
It will only further highlight the issues & bad opinions that has been mentioned in this forum.
