Big-ego: Yes, I am very happy with the gowns that I tailor made outside... They are very nice and of coz unique, as custom-made accordingly to what I wanted...

The video is not bad... but not the pics though... perhaps my expectations are too high? :-)

well, apparently these bunlded AD photographers are actually free lancers who might have some working relationship with the bridal shop..

for me, i prefer to choose my own AD photographer myself... hence for my own BS, i did not include that in the package =) pricing wise is of course much cheaper too...

well, i guess yi fen qian yi fen hou...

do you all know of this thing called outsourcing? =) think along this line...

a good AD PG is not cheap, can easily be up to a couple of thousand of dollars.. =)

Weixiang: I understand that some of the AD photographers r free lancers and the AD videographers are also free lancers.. But its nt so much of yi fen qian yi fen huo. I paid good money so i expect good pics n videos... Just becoz they r freelancers, they cn produce such quality. Imagine what that says of the studio if they employ such people???? And after such pics are taken, they provide such bad service to their customers.... I dun think that is acceptable......

Littlewoman: Hmm same here, my wife was commenting that the pics did not capture our joy that night. Who was ur AD photographer?

Agree with Big-Ego... moreover, I think the amount we paid are rather substantial or should I say rather market rate?

Big-Ego: I had PM you the name... Not nice to mention it here afterall. :-) Are they ur photographer/videographer as well? I think my videographer not too bad though.. :-)

Littlewoman: ya true, we r paying market rate to say the least so of coz i wld expect a certain level of standard n service frm them.... If they cnt even do the minimum, then too bad they r getting dis-satisfied customers.... They always try to cover themselves by pinning the blame on the customers. I really detest such personnel.

Little woman: i will reply to ur msg in private. Dun wish to name names here too. If i nt wrong, one of the names u mentioned is familiar to mi coz i dun really rem their names...

Big Ego, how much did you pay for the actual day photography? I guess if its from x-zen, its together as a bundle, isn't it?

I am not so certain about it but i have come across package deals, which the price of AD PG is already included in the all-in package which is in the region of 3+++k... which imho is value for money...

My AD PG cost me $1++k, this is my personal selection which does not have any tie up with BS. When I was actively searching for AD PG, some very nice BTBs share with me packages (solely for AD PG) which are easily in the range of 2+k, top ones can even hit 3.5-4k.... really fainted... i admit i do not have the budget to set aside 4k just solely for AD PG...

In all, my combined AD PG + VG (from separate vendors) cost me close to ($1++k & $2++k )$3.5k... My BS package is in the region of $3+k.. hope it helps... Peronsally, i feel its really alot of money solely for preserving memories... i have some brides who told me its hard to source for a good AD PG for less than $1k? i still have those emails though... i was in for a shock when i saw the prices quoted...

I did check with my own BS if i were to engage AD PG, they reverted saying it will be about $450... however, they did mention it will be outsourced to PGs who have working relationships with them...

hope it helps. =)

not sure whether its the same for X-Zen? BIG-ego, kindly advice... really not sure.. BIG ego, you can PM me in private as well.. thank you =)

Big ego, one thing if one does not want the AD PG package from X-Zen, how much can one deduct from the package? Like i understand, if one does not want the Bridal Car, deduct $200 or so...

btw, i agree that there must be some standard of the freelancers which the BS are employing.. however, being on the safe side, i have decided to engage my own PG & VG.

Big-ego: Shall wait for your PM.. perhaps they are all the same ppl?

weixiang: it realli depends and the price varies. My friend has her PG and VG from one of the free-lancers and it costs less than S$2,5K in total, indeed, the pics turn out to be realli great. :-) I paid about the upper range of S$3K plus for the whole package (just the AD VG and PG)...

Jacko: Have u already signed up a package with them? When is ur AD?

Jacko: does ur package include MTM gown? I gt AD VG frm thm also. Did u also sign up their AD VG & PG? Did u sign up for their overseas package or only their local shoot?

Weixiang: i paid almost 2k plus for both AD VG & PG... So basically almost the same as what u wld nd to pay out there. Tats y i m so frustrated w the quality of service n n the pics that i gt frm them. But its nt true tat u cnt find gd AD PG for less thn 1k... U just nd to go online n search... There r many freelancers n they also allow u to hav a look at their previous works... So do try to go online, there r lots of freelancers n companies offering tat service.

I heard frm my friends who signed up w other BS, tat if they choose nt to hav a MTM gown, they may hav a reduction of the package price or maybe some other benefits.... As for AD PG, I m afraid u might nd to check w x-zen on their policy or their stand on this. Knowing hw they work, i m keeping my fingers crossed for u....

Big Edo, you paid almost 2k in top ups? wow... then its really about practically market rate... now i know where you are coming from, about being frustrated with the quality of service and prices...

well, let's all keep our fingers crossed... thanks BIG-Ego...

littlewoman, for your AD PG & VG are sourced directly from X-Zen? for the upper range of $3k plus, you could have many PG & VG to select from...

hope all turns out to be fine for everyone....
wedding is an expensive affair, but then end of the day, let us just enjoy the preparation and process...

Jacko: I took an AD package that includes AD PG and VG... with x-zen... :-)

weixiang: Exactly that is my point... Wedding is once in a lifetime event, it can never be redone... That explains my disappointment when I saw my photos in one way or another... Their replies aren't consoling as well.. But I am glad that my VG turns out to be rather okay, this kinda of make up for one way or another. :-)

Big-Ego& Feli: but i'm just a bit fed up... it's like they will keep telling u this gown is for S size... there's no way they can alter to become a L... i told them i don wan red, pink and purple and they still keep pushing those colours to me.. Maybe those are the ones of my size?

I wanted to have cheongsam as well, but i've not chosen gowns for AD yet..

i'm actually having my AD photographer with them which comes in a bundle. And since i signed up as an earlier batch, i was informed that there's no more videography for oversea shooting. Instead they have this 3D thingy... which i find similar to montage.

hope their AD WG & EG are not as disappointing

Wing: I think u shld tell them firmly that u dun like those colors and instead ask them to come out with an alternative proposal... Btw, are u going to MTM ur WG? I mean they do not expect every single bride to be small sizes isn't it? Overseas videography shld come together as a package for overseas photography... Does it mean that they do not have any available slots or?

Hmm... u have a free AD PG tied in ya? Personally, I feel that it is not up to my expectations as I can't recap the joy I had on my big day from the photos, was rather sad when I see that...

Wing: I agree with littlewoman, do not step back from ur preferences. Do push on and make sure they fulfil ur requests. After all this is ur wedding and as a BS, they shld do all they cn to make sure u hav a wonderful day and not get u to do whatever is convenient for them...
As i hav earlier mentioned in my posts, they cn be quite lazy at times so i do not know if thats the reason why they refuse to alter ur gowns. But if u really see one that u like, do make sure they alter it to ur liking....
As for the AD photographer, i cn only say hope u get a good one, as my AD PG was not quite up to our standards. So hopefully, u r able to get a better PG.

Wing: Your welcome. Glad to be of some help here.... Hmm as u have already chosen to take the AD PG, it would be hard for u to change... But u cn still try,no harm but given the Bs nature, even if they r willing to accept tat u do not wish for their AD PG, they might nt be willing to exchange a MTM gown for u... U might nd to top up for it, which i feel is not worth it.

hi i'm back to this thread after a long time.

Wing can u activate ur pm? thks!

I dunno if u guys realise? They always talk behind their custs back..esp of the custs insist on their ways. i've been there several times and always hear them complaining abt other custs in front of us. How unprofessional!

i'm feeling wat u guys feel too abt them, but i'm trying to accept it and make the best out of it since there's no other choices.

talking behind their customers back... mmz.. if they were that good.. customers will not even want to complain...

Littlewoman:
Can you let me know which photographer you choose for your AD? Appreciate of you could email me wanlinz84@yahoo.com.sg.
My AD is Sep this year.

PS in Oct last year but some photos turn out to be really blur. Edwin was pretty nice about it, and we managed to get X-Zen to re-print for us...even though up till now we have yet to receive the final album (they told us the new printer will come in May or Jun so we should be getting it soon). Just a caution for those who are selecting your photos - Look at the photos carefully and check thorughly before selecting. When we were choosing the photos it was not blur on the laptop, but when printed in large it became obvious.

to add on to what missy had written, during the selection do ensure that you are looking at 100% instead of resized (miniature) photos.. it is very misleading... especially when you are printing them out in 15R... always ask for viewing at 100% to reconfirm its a sharp photo.

for me, i am a pixel sweeper...
