Has anyone under Susan been informed that she is leaving?apparently another lady called Wendy is taking over, anyone has had experience with her? So disappointed that I keep being thrown around with respect to the coordinators! |

Yup, Susan revealed this to us during our last trip to Julia a few wks back. She said she is leaving the next day or so? We got a shock, but wasn't too surprised. I can understand how crappy it is, to change coordinators every few months. Think the management has its own problems? Well. |

ya i suspect that too, melody Have u met the new co-ordinator? Actually I am only renting gowns/suits for them as my package is only an AD package but i really hope the new co-ordinator can pick out the gowns that suit me cos Susan was really gd at knowing what gowns fit my body type. |

Hi Alyssa, I am not sure who is our new coordinator. But since we have already settled most of our package, it doesn't really matter anymore. I agree that Susan is good at picking out gowns. Even better than the gown coordinator. Susan was a gown designer turned coordinator I heard, thus explaining her expertise. Hope Wendy turns out to be ok ya. Keep ur fingers crossed. |

Halo girls, I just signed up with JWN recently for Taiwan package. Came into this thread to make some friends in common. Just to share, I got Wendy as my co-ordinator. I have a good impression of her, during my trial gown fit, she gave me a few recommendations on what kind of gowns fit my body type. Think she quite pro, heard she has designer background. But then again, I was a potential customer that day, want my biz of cos must treat me nice rite? but i really hope she will treat me equally well after my signing up. I am considering whether to go bring a MUA out with me during the outdoor photoshoots (I intend to do all outdoor photoshoots, no indoor for me). Rather ex le... bt i tink quite troublesome to go back to the bridal shop to change a new style then come out again to continue the shoot. Any advice anyone? |

Hi L, When's your wedding? I have taken my PS in March and waiting for my PS layout to be out. I took my photos in Singapore not in Taiwan. I didn't bring my MUA out and had to travel back to studio to change. But I think it's okie because Ah Liang (my photographer) will keep track of time and plan the day accordingly. But if you are in Taiwan, maybe it's worth bringing the MUA out because the place is rather big and travel all the way back to studio to change may not be a good use of time if you have a few more places to go for photoshoot. |

Hi Ladies Like to share about JWN, my HTB and I sign up for a package after much haggling for price. The co-orndinator Elis is very professional and so does Wendy. I did my PS last month with Ah Liang, I must say he is very professional in his judgement and works. Maybe we sit down and really talk about my expectations and his expectation. From an artist point of view, his control of lightning and pose is excellent. Not the usual photos I've seen in many other studios. Their gowns may be limited, but Elis got me a most beautiful gown that I have envision in my mind. I didn't even tell her what I like. There's only minor hiccups like the gown I like cant be altered to my size but fortunately healthy eating makes the alteration possible again. I'm looking forward to choosing my photos this Sunday. I hope the outcome continues to be good! |

Hi L, My PS is in TW too. done in march, photos selected and now waiting for layout like shujun. I did bring out a MUA and i felt it was definately worth it. After the 1st image, we went back to the bridal shop to change into the 2nd outfit and look because the photoshoot location was near to the bridal shop. I went to a paying location and got my third and fourth look done and i was absolutely pleased. If you don't going to paying places, i heard they will set up tents for you to change. But the problem is, depending on who your photographer is, the assistant might be a male / female. If your PG is Louis, his assistant is Wawa, a lady so she can help you with changing. My PG was Ah Hao, his assistant was xiao hei and being a guy, i cannot expect him to be helping change my super heavy gowns ba.. so all in all it was worth bringing the MUA out. |

Me, i've used regina as my MUA before but i dun really like her way of making up. As for the morning hair styling it is really jus normal, normal and the make-up is plain too. Natural la but alot of my friend n relatives said its like e make-up is done by myself. And i said i wan attnetion on my eyes, i wan big eyes but in e end e morning one oso like tat only. I make-up myself even nicer. As for night time, i voice out that wan a more thick make-up and really big eyes. and it turn out to be nicer den morning de lo.. Hair too. Make-up too. Eyes too all nicer den morning. I heard good reviews about Regina la but i personally dun thk tat her style suits me. I prefer Xiaoqi. If can, change to Xiaoqi. I like her more. Cuz when i said i wan attention on my eyes, she reallly did a good job on my eyes. I used her on my ROM. Jus tat my AD xiaoqi is not available. So they got me regina. |

Hi all, I just want to share that I love the layout designs that they have produced for me. I just spoken to my coordinator today to make minor adjustments (eg. change position of photos, increase photo size etc). I realised that I have choosen very few single photo of myself only. Mostly couple shots! Hahaha! My coordinator has also helped me planned for next appointment to choose my actual day gowns. My package includes one Julia Wedding gown, evening gown and one teadress/ ROM dress. Has anyone swap teadress with normal gowns? Or anyone knows what is the difference between ROM dress and teadress. I know the teadress is the traditional chinese dress also known as KUA. But as for ROM dress, I am not sure what designs do they have and what is the difference between normal gown and ROM dress. Any advice? |

Hey Vanilla, Xiaoqi is available for me, but quite early, 530AM. I am looking for MUA to come at ard 7am. Sandy is booked too. I've requested to do a trial makeup with Regina. If realli not to my expectations, i will make do with the early timing and go for Xiaoqi instead. Thanks for your feedback, makes me kinda worried tho. Hey Shujun, I got my layout too! Am totally in love with my bridal photos. Also has some slight changes to be made. Who's your coordinator? I'm selecting my AD gowns soon too ! have made appt. As for me, i will have one gown, one evening gown, one ROM dress and one Kua. I tink the ROM dresses are short generally and my guess is there might be charges to top up for the ROM dress to wedding gown but i might be wrong. Do check with your coordinator, she will better advise you. BTW can i check who is your AD MUA? |

Hi Me, Thanks! My coordinator is Jess. She helps me a lot on my planning and gives me suggestions on the layouts. Did you take ur PS in Singapore or Taiwan? Ah Liang is simply good. I am tempted to buy some of the reminding photos from them. Do you or anyone else know if I were just to buy softcopy of their photos, will it be cheaper than $80 per piece? I can't remember who is my MUA for AD. I think it's Sandy. My AD is on 3rd Dec and Jess has arranged fir me to selection gowns on the 28th Aug. She said to choose early in case I can't find anything that I like. |

Hi Shujun, My PS was in TW too. From what i understand when i took up the package, they don't sell soft copy unless u buy a certain amount, i think 2K worth of hard copy photos dan u will be allowed to buy soft copy. $80 per pcs is not inclusive of GST yet lo .. |

Had a very bad experience at Julia this morning with my future sis-in-law. We were very excited because I used Julia myself in 2006 and was relatively satisfied. It was the first store we stepped into today and was very disappointed to say that it spoiled the rest of the day. Few things why: 1. When we asked abt the pricing, salesperson insisted that we finished looking at the albums and her tone was very fierce about it. 2. When we asked about options outside of the Julia's standard package, once again, sales person was very fierce and bordering on being rude. My SIL is from PRC and was considering several alternative options, but all the salesperson kept explaining was the Julia package and how it was not worth it if we do not take a package. 3. When trying on the gowns, my SIL expressed that she didn't like the gown that the Sales person picked out, the sales person's response was, "Oh you cannot tell from just looking at it, you have to try." And it wasn't in a nice tone. It was a very demanding tone. I know where the sales person was coming from, but seriously, I think my SIL was entitled to not like the design of the gown. 4. The sales person asked me rudely, "How many years has she been in Singapore?" referring to my SIL. I said that she doesn't live here. Then she asked," Oh, where is she from?" I said, "China". Then sales person said in a semi mocking voice, " Of course I know she's from China, I mean, which part of China, China is so big". 5. When my SIL asked her how much it is just to rent the one gown that she tried, she said $XX. We were like... oh, so ex huh? Then her response was... "Oh, of course, it's FRENCH lace leh" in a very haughty voice. Yes, I do know what French lace is, thank you very much. Please excuse the possible translation mistakes in my write up, (cos it took place in Mandarin), but seriously, I was very disappointed in the service. I'm not sure if it's cos we look like we can't afford a Julia package, or because my SIL is not local. And even though we both love the gowns, we will not go back. Service makes a whole world of difference. It's not even asking for the sky, it's just basic service and courtesy. It's about knowing your customers' needs and trying your best to see if your package can fit their needs, and not the other way round. I think the forgiving factor in this whole episode is the pretty gowns they have, but that is not enough because if we have to deal with such service in the future, it's too much for us to take. We will definitely not go back. I do not wish to mention names, but I'm just disappointed that it was such a bad experience. |

hi all, would like to share my first gown fitting experience w JWN My co-ordinator is Wendy, and we went down today to select gowns for our AD. I was quite disappointed that there were only a few selected gowns i could choose from. However, I must say that Wendy really has an eye for choosing gowns that suite my body type. The reason i say this is because after the selected few she chose, i insisted on looking at others and i realize they really didnt match up to the ones she chose. In addition, i saw another girl who was trying on gowns and they all look pretty similar to me after awhile. Evening gown was a big headache cos the selection is really so limited, plus my body type is very "straight" so in general all evening gowns look pretty bad on me. However Wendy managed to pick out one particular gown that is empire cut and is abit inspired by the korean traditional dress.. its blue and is made of some chiffon/tulle material. It was the best among the lot so i reserved it. However we had alot of disagreements abt the package. We negotiated for 3 gowns for $3388 and now we decided to only have 1 gown for 2 days (cos my ROM and banquet is separated) and we have difficulty explaining to wendy that the price will be $2699 in that case. All because Dex never write it clearly on the invoice. Very pekcek. Have to wait for michelle to come back to clarify but i got a feeling she will just make me top up. Thats the problem w changing co-ordinators. sigh. However i must say thumbs up for wendy. If your co-ordinator is wendy i must say u are in gd hands. She is very honest so if she thinks u do not look gd in something she will tell u upfront which i really appreciate! |

i am one unhappy bride from JWN. Was supposed to go for my trial makeup, made the appt and i even called JWN to check if my appt is confirmed and given the affirmative and when i went down, there was no MUA, only me! They refused to say was it the coordinator or the MUA at fault. Best part is, my coordinator was on leave and they actually wanted me to wait for her to come back before doing any further arrangements for me. Seriously, disappointment is too weak a word to express my feelings. When i went for my gown selection for my AD, i chose from the latest design range and nothing caught my eye. My coordinator face blacked and showed attitude and was even rude to my friend who went with me. Seriously the service level sucks max! |

Hi all, just want to share my experience on choosing my evening gowns with Julia. My coordinator and her assistant Mindy helped me a lot with the selection. Despite, I have tried so many times, they are very patient with me. And gave me different advice. They put in efforts to find the suitable gowns for me as I was unable to find anything I like after dozens of trys. Happy to finally found the evening dress that I like very much. |

This is my 1st post.. I've been reading the many posts above but haven't posted before. I'm also a JWN bride! My coordinator - jess has been very professional so far. On my gown selection date, she was really patient letting me try many (and I really mean many many) gowns until I was happy with the selections. Thumbs up to jess and her assistant!! I really love the gowns I selected and am super excited for my gown fitting this sat and phototaking session on tue! I've chosen Xiaoqi and ah liang for my makeup artist and photographer respectively. For those who already went for ur photoshoots, any of you brought your own cameras during the shoot? Or is it something that they will totally ban? Any tips for the shoot will be absolutely useful! |

Hi All, I have signed up a prewedding shoot in taipei at the Vivo city roadshow today. We walked in Julia Wedding News booth and were attracted by the freebies they throw in. When we finally signed up for the package, we realized that the receipt and namecard states The Love Weddings. The coordinator Vanessa and her manager Ruby said that it is the same company, just that in Singapore they are called Julia Weddings but in Taipei they are called The Love Weddings. I went to search Julia Weddings website and saw that their Taiwan branch is also called Julia weddings and the address is different from the address in the name card that they gave mi. Im very worried now as i signed up the package being assured of the strong branding that Julia wedding have and the different celebrities that endorsed their brand. The coordinator and her manager keep emphasizing that Julia Wedding never do discounts but only at this roadshow they able to do that. Now it seems that it is 2 different company.Anyone signed up with Julia Wedding in roadshows before? Is it normal that they use different company names or have i been conned?I have already made a full payment via credit card.Kindly advise mi....am v worried nw.. |

Hi JLxoxo The manager at JWN is Michelle. From what I heard from her, the shop seldom do road show. I manage to bump into them last year at a vivo road show, but they are using their own name branding. As you have already signed up with another shop. I think will be as good. Unless you want to take up a case against them. Stay happy! |

hi all, i did pass by the vivo wedding road show and saw michelle at the JWN booth (seen her many times since i have been going down to JWN to try their gowns for my upcoming wedding) so i think it shd be the correct one? It could be possible that they have a tie up with some of the overseas companies for shoots. Think it might be similar to DiGio and Rico-A-mona here in SG. |

Hi Jac.. Not sure whether your Pre wedding shoot over? Here are some of my advice.. 1) Sleep early and drink less water the day before your shooting. 2) prepare some photos for hairdo or make up style to show to the MUA if u know what u want.... i told my MUA Xiao Qi that i want very simple nude make up for indoor.. she really create the kind of nice and simple make up for me! 3) Juz smile and relax..and don't think whether you look pretty or not during the shooting.. cuz i realize by worry too much.. will look tense in the photo! 4) Bring some props if u like to add them into your photos, eg teddy bear, fresh cut flowers..i even bring my pillows to create the kind of throwing pillow scene ! 5)bring a few pair of shoes! 6)prepare your own ampure if you have sensitive skin 7) Will suggest you to browse some bridal megazine if you have your ideal post or scene..i did pass an album to Ah Liang to show him the pose i like! He is very OK for that! 8) Learn to smile in front of mirror..i know it sounds weird..but u are the best person to know which angle of u is the prettiest! 9) Will suggest you to avoid choosing too tight cutting gown (eg straight cut or mermaid cut) for your outdoor PS..as u can create lot's of nice and fun shots for out door, for eg runing jumping, or lying down on the grass field... Hope these will help for the rest as well! |

Hi rachelw, Thanks for the tips! I actually went for the photoshoot on 20 Sep but the weather didn't hold up, so we only did the indoor shoot and postponed our outdoor shoot to 28 Nov (next Mon).. actually the studio called me in the morning and asked if I still wanted to proceed since it was raining pretty heavily.. but I stubbornly insisted cos I was looking forward to the shoot for the longest time.. I hope the weather is kind to us this time round.. For me, I didn't bring any pictures to show Xiaoqi and simply told her that I want natural makeup. She also asked me what types of hairdo I like very patiently. I told her I had no preference and that she was free to design one. She did this super pretty hairstyle which I couldn't bear to remove after the shoot. I super love Xiaoqi's makeup and hairdo skills, she made me look like a doll! *thumbs up* I haven't seen my indoor shoot yet as I prefer to wait for all the photos before selecting, but I'm confident they will turn out great! So looking forward to Mon (and crossing my fingers that the weather will be really kind to us).. Btw, I have a mermaid cut evening gown for my shoot and can't reselect my gowns.. Hmm, guess I just have to be extremely careful and walk really slowly.. Btw, I've seen your pics, they are so pretty! Love the pillow fight scene, such a happy scene.. I brought some fresh roses and rose petals to the indoor shoot.. now thinking of what other props I should bring for the outdoor shoot.. |

Yup we will be doing the photoshoot in the morning instead. Because of the extra photoshoot, I've become so much more familiar with Jess and even Michelle. |

I heard they do provide, but it's a charge of $50. i didn't take up bcuz i went there too late, n the makeup artist left. we didnt request either so doesnt matter. my experience with Julia Wedding News was entirely different from Perfect wedding news (if u wish to know more i have posted my comments on the thread http://www.singaporebrides.com/forumboard/messages/1/1659944.html?1324231482) I picked Julia for my AD gowns. Apparently it's very famous in Taiwan. I shared with many Taiwanese friends that I'm signed with Julia and all nodded with approval. My package was very simple, just 2 gowns, 2 suits, corsages, 2 bouquets, car deco. my coordinator Elise/Mindy communicated with us before we go down. it's pretty basic but i'm pleased already. i'm happy with the Gown selections, as many brides here are. Varieties, Good suggestions. I was pretty stubborn with my mermaid cut and they know what i want. Evening gown i picked a short dress for easy movement in dance. Unfortunately their short dress selection aint a lot, and will look like a bridesmaid if not exquisite enough. Men suits: GOOD. very relieved when we see the men suit. bcuz my htb had a terrible experience in taiwan. we were so worried. however their blazers accentuate asian men's torso, pants were well tailored too. but of course colours are limited to black, ivory, grey, silver, light gold. I'm hoping everything will be alright when we pick our gown and suit late Jan! |

hi all! i just had my wedding and i want to highly recommend my co-ordinator Wendy and my makeup artiste Ivy. I know most pple chose Xiaoqi as their makeup artist but i was allocated Ivy which i have not heard on this forum. Had wanted to arrange a trial MU with her but my hubby thought it wasnt necessary. In the end he was right because she did a fantastic job on my makeup. It was very natural and she will try to understand what u want and your preferred style before she starts her makeup. Most importantly, she is very very gd with hair. I picked quite a difficult style with french braids and flowers to add but she managed to pull it off and i recieved many compliments for it. Wendy (who is also their in house designer) was also very helpful and sincere during all the fittings. I highly recommend both of them if anyone is interested with JWN! |
