that's a message personally conveyed by Maggie herself.. She's currently in China and will be there for a couple of months.. Even if she's back, she will be looking at other opportunities. Of course I can't predict there might be a chance of her going back. I'm not sure on the change of coordinator.. I guess this is individual request and u may discuss with them .. |

Hi all,
i had booked our package in Jan this year and will be having the PS in November 2010.
actual wedding should be in Jan 2011.
- do you all think it will be too rush to select the photos and do the album?
co-ordinator is Dex.
So far went back once to check on what are the stuffs required to prepare first.
not very helpful, din say much.
ask abt makeup artist, he say will find a good one but no name mention.
PS photographer is Ah liang which we already confirmed during signing package.
Dex told us to go back on weekday evening to select our gown and mention weekend is not advisable.
so far reading this forum and found that MUA only have Xiaoqi and Regina?
any others to intro?
also any other photographer or co-ordinator to recommend? as Dex is a guy, we prefer to have someone to help my financee on her gown selection and trying.
hope to hear from you all soon as mine is consider pretty rushing thru. |

Hi Brandon..
Seems abit rush but if JWN said its ok..shld be fine.. Cos my PS was in Mar this yr.. n AD in Jun. I only took back my photos a few days b4 AD..
Our coodinator is Dex too.. U know what you meant. He is like that.. U will get used to it after a while. He's the bochap kind..
As for MUA...we chose Xiaoqi. No regrets.Make up was natural.. n she is very nice. If u wana book her remember to do that in advance.. She is freelance n have her own customers.. Hard to get her.
Guess he said weekend not advisable cos he wana close new sales...haha.. U can insist u wana weekend ask them block a slot for u =P
Oh.. Dex have a assistant by the name of Zara. She will be able to help yr financee..so no worries abt that.

Hi everyone, when I booked my package, I haven't stated the AD yet as my banquet date wasn't fixed yet. So when I finalise my banquet date, is it advisable to go all the way down to the bridal studio and talk to my co-ordinator regarding the actual day date and then to fix my make-up artist and PS date too? Is it too early to do so as my actual date is in Oct 2011? Or talk over the phone? I feel that talking over the phone is not reliable? Pls advise. Thanks |

i know what you mean, i find that it's kinda of rush too. heard that the PS photo and album takes time to settle too. for sure i know he will be very pushy during the photo selection.
how is the service of Zara? is she friendly and good?
So for MUA, xiaoqi do for ur PS and AD?
seems like she will be hard to catch. now we are rushing to book our banquet before calling dex to confirm on the AD.
For AD PS, did you get from JWN or other source? any to recommend? |

Hi Joy, i went down about 2 weekends ago and was hoping them to give me more info and also guides as to what to do...etc. but my coordinator din help much.
I think it would be up to your coordinator and see how helpful are they.
best would be to find out about the MUA name and who is helpful b4 going down. cos the answer i got was dont worry, i will arrange a good one without any names mention.  |

Pushy plus black face..hoho.. N he will try to tell u that everyone would want a perfect album. Dont be bothered by the amount.. Its usual that people will top at more than 6K...
Though i prefer her ex-asst(Hilda), Zara is not bad too. No worries about her service. She is warm n chatty..
Xiaoqi only did my makeup for AD cos my PS is in Taiwan..
For AD PS, i took from JWN.. Do note that if you take from them, they will give u freelance photographer.. Let me know if you need the contact of my AD PG... =) |

It depends on the number of additional pics.. Also on bargaining skills ba.. During the selection process, dun show the 'u look the pics a lot' look .. Think dun smile too much works too for us.. We are rather serious in the selection process.. I gotten mine at $65 per pic inclusive gst.. |

Brandon : U wana view PS or AD photos? Price per photos really depend... We paid around 4K for 49 extra photos in the alb, 30 unedited in mini alb, 1 chuang tou zhao, 1 index page & thank you cards.. the more u top up, the more freebies they throw in...hoho

Hi everyone, I just wanna share my experience with JWN.
I went to Taiwan for my PS last December and had a great time there. The weather is nice for the guys but a bit too cold for the ladies because we are wearing quite little. My PG is Louise and I must say that he had done a good job for the photographs. I love the photo so much that I ended up topping quite a bit even though I had told myself not to in the first place. Haha..
The services provided by the people over at JWN in TW is excellent too. I had asked them to change one of my hairstyles when I was taking indoor shoot as I don't really like it. They did it without asking why or giving us the black face and it was already late into the night (around 9pm I think). I really love their makeup as they manage to make us looked so natural in the photo.
When we got back our photo album, my hubby and I weren't too pleased with the layout and requested to change. Jess, my coordinator, actually sit down with us and noted down everyone of our requests (which is quite a lot) and basically sent the whole album back to TW to change.
All in all, I'm very pleased with JWN services and would definitely recommend any BTB to take them up! =)

Ahak - Good tat maggie is frank with u.. Initally we did short list 2 of us as well. Also forgot why we end up taking with JWN. Photos turn out within our expectation.. But got to admit with the amount we pay, can get something better..
Cindy - Glad to see you here again.. Thanks for your advice last time. They did manage to give me the photos b4 my wedding. Got to agree with you that JWN in TW is great! They are all very friendly and service there seems better =) |

Mui-Yea.. when the layout is done, they will ask u to go down to view the layout..if u need any changes.. u gota tell them.. Mine they make me decide on the spot.. didnt really make much changes.. |

Hi Brandon, if I remember correctly , maggie ever told me it's 1200 for AD photography.. Why not consider sourcing yourself externally? I paid 1700 for both AD photography and videography from 230 pm to 11pm. I engaged 2 of us photography.. It's worth the money.. |

Hi elbarc, I'm not aware of any rebates. Was just quoted $1200. U mean there's rebate schemes?
My AD only starts fm 230pm.. I dun have gate crashing.. Starts fm hotel, solemnisation then to dinner.. Initially I only wanted photograhy only. However hub's colleague was saying if can engage videography would be better as it can bring back memories. It's true as till now, whenever we see the speech and friends well wishes, we giggled. The videography comes with highlights as well.. |

Hi just wanna share my experience when choosing evening gowns, the EG in Julia is so limited ! Every piece I tried is not up to my liking, in the end , I have to forced myself to take one as it is part of the package. So my htb proposed to rent one from other bridal shop.Anyone has any suggestions? |

Hi Wedee, i agree their eg selection is really limited!! I can't take those "pong" eg as I'm a plus size. In the end, I bought an eg myself. The nice thing about Maggie is she gave us 3 more table top since I changed my mind abt taking their eg. ! In fact I have alreadi chosen the eg fm Julia but I keep having 2nd thoughts. So these 3 extra tops are really a surprise for me |

Hi Brandon, dun really quite understand wat u mean by rush out on time.. Mine was taken from 2 of us photography and they have their own videographer.. And I engage them 4 months before AD.. Everthing went on smoothly as I dun have gate crashing.. Just solemnisation, tea ceremony and dinner straight..
For me, there's no trial make up.. But I trusted the make up artist since Maggie booked Regina for me.. She's ok except I'm not really happy over the AD minor incident. |

yup agree the skills and effects turn out well..so unresistably, i took additional 60+ pics aside from the package. tried to bargain with Michelle and got per pic ~$60 inclusive of gst. But they also throw in sum free gifts la...hmm overall i think ok la..quite enjoy the process of choosing and elimination... |

Hi everyone,
recently read a lot of comments about Elise, so just tot of sharing my story.
my coordinator is Serene aka XiaoTing, but she went on maternity leave since end July, so Elise covered her and attended to her clients - one of them being me.
Elise may seem abit blur, but she is never rude nor pull black face... Gosh, its a handover, so most of things that Serene promised me, Elise wasn't sure, but she makes sure she check back on the invoice or Serene's writings, otherwise she'll say she'll get back to me after checking with Serene. And Elise do get back to me.
When I went for my gowns choosing session, i tried at least 7 WGs and 8-9 EGs, but I couldn't decide on the WG and almost dislike all of the EGs. So I KIV on 3 pcs of WG, and told Elise I'll bring my sisters down to help me choose EG.
She was okay, didn't hurry me to pick and cfm.
When I brought my sisters down for choosing of EGs, (mind you, my sisters are pretty critical, they would frown and criticize aloud), my sisters dislike what I KIV, and also 3 other pieces that Elise suggested I try. But Elise and Zara were still joking with them. Then Finally, I saw the EG that I wan! and my sisters also agreed! But still i couldn't decide on WG.
So I asked her to inform me when new pcs come in during Aug. She also told me, most important is I like what I pick... then followed by timing as date nearer wedding.
Then I went down for another round of WG choosing... and Elise helped me reserve some new arrivals for me to try. But in the end I chose back the WG which I KIV the 1st time, which she still reserve for me.
Seriously, I find Elise and Zara nice and not pushy. Just go to Julia with a open mind (if u're even picking them).
Be chatty and nice, so as to make them give u more things... get buddy buddy with them. =) |

Brandon --> I will email u the link tonight.. If u wana on yr private message uncheck " Do not send me "Private Message" e-mails from other board users " under preference ( in yr profile ). As for the EG, it really depends on individual preference. Gota admit that choices are limited but i feel in love with the 1st EG when they showed me... As for groom suit, thk i only see those standard ones ( black, grey & white ).. If u are looking for something fancy, i doubt they have... They didnt offer me trial makeup prior to PS/AD... I just trust whoever they assigned us with. Am satisfied with what they offered
Dora --> Glad that u manage to bargain with them till 60/pix.. Mind to share what freebies they offered? Thk none of us here manage to resist not to top up much.. =)
As for editing, if I am not wrong they will do the layout n let u view. If u wana anny changes let them know. After that they will email to u n let u check.. By right they will charge u the 2nd time u ask them to edit... But i dont thk they will charge..hehe. Not too sure if they charge for wordings cos we never edit those words..
JC --> Agree that Elise is blur but she is never rude.. I like Zara too ! Guess the approach is to be chatty & buddy with them. They are a nice bunch of people... After a while all of them will recognise u... |

yeah the bargaining session orchestrated by my husband with michelle eventually resulted in a couple of table tops, mini albums, a large i dunno what you call that, its like a A2 poster pull down flimsy screen with your selected pic on it...and most importantly $60/pic..haha..quite fun la...elize was with us also when we choose the pics...i think she is ok la....quite friendly also...but i think the photographer assistant Xiaoqiang is super pro!!! he is very attentive to details and helped us a great deal during the photo shoot and photo selection..... |

Hey Josephine,
i had my make up done by XQ also. personally, i think her make up skills are very very gd. but in any case if you intend to do trial make up i think the cost is around $150. |
