Yup....3NG. 67sqm. Same as yours? I will have 2 feature walls...1 for a 180deg rotation tv console and another for the entrance of my master room. Did ur ID propose you any feature walls?

Remember to check on my photo album for updates of my reno progress! Who knows, maybe u can get some ideas from there as well " )

Hi

My place undergoing reno now. Moving in next week. Very tight deadline of 2 weeks and fingers crossed my contractor can make it. Because of budget and time constraints, I didn't do a lot of big things but still the reno quote kena $5500. And so far, I've racked up close to $1000 for variation quote. Cos once you step in the house, you realise you want to add this and that. And fixtures and fittings will set you back another $2000 thereabouts.

Once my contractor/ID finishes the work then I can give you an idea of how good he is. I chose him out of others because I could communicate with him, easy to talk to, some more I think he's around my age (30 ish). Will update you in a couple of weeks.

hi whaleywilly,
u bought a resale flat or from hdb?
think typically a new 3 rm flat reno will cost an avg of $20K ....if u go for an ID, it's likely gonna cost more

Hi Goonerette,

I bought a resale flat in Redhill close. Now gathering ideas and contacts to do a good reno work for my new place. As space is limited, hence need to fully max the whole place, esp. living room.

Anyone got gd contractor to reccommend?

Thanks! :-)

If u keen can recommend mine to u.
Good workmanship and plus able to nego the prices. Was recommended by frenz fm here too.
Took a look at their hse and like it.

Fist and foremost is u muz b comfortable w ur contractor. I like mine lor as i went to quite a number and prices abit steep. My new 3rm flat ard 17k with a number of things. If i were to take the others, many things not able to do.

U may like to try and get a quotation it u keen.
Just let me know...

My hse just started to lay cement by the HDB as I'm doing laminate flooring. He advise me to do some things which i needed first as i'm also on budget.
U can contact Eddie 98587805. Tell him intro by Lena. That's what i told him when I was informed to tel him intro by another. So he will do his best to give u a good quote.

Hi Lam... 3NG - New Generation. 3I- Improved 3S-Simplified. The main difference between them are the size.. 3 NG being the largest of 3rm flat. Usually there's an attached toilet.. but some dont, depending on the year of the flat. They are usually about 73sqm-81 Sqm. 3I is about 63-69 Sqm. 3S- in the range of 57 - 61 Sqm. It's just an estimated. Nowadays majority of the old 3-rm flats are upgrade with an extra Utility room.. so, that should add another few Sqm. For larger 3rm flat.. most of them can be found at AMK, Yishun estate.

There's also the 3 & 1/2 room, which is the 3NG but with the corridor included into the space. This is the biggest of the flats considered under 3-room, with a area of 81sqm.
