Hi, guys.. something to add on to ur checklist when checking for defects.. especially if ur estate has been vacant for some time...

Pls go and check whether your grounding cables are still intact. Can locate the cable outside ur hse.. where the electrical/water meter is... Cos for my estate.. the grounding cables have been cut off.. Was told that the cables worth quite a lot because of the bronze in the cables..

Try Magic Clean, though it suppose to work on mirror & glasses. But i guess the concept is still there.

Piglet: Wad kind of laminated top is this? For kitchen? Wood + Laminate?

If its solid surface, use 1 of these 2 products:

A: Lemon Pledge
B: 3M Aluminium Cleaner

I am using Lemon Pledge. The 3M one is the solid surface people recommend one.

Hi All

I'm new. (stating the obvious) I balloted from HBD flat in Tampines in Jun got it confirmed in Oct and would be getting the keys in Nov. Due to work I havent manged to find a good ID. This is my first flat so need recomendations on the ID.
Can anyone help? My flat is a resale hence renovated already but need to redo the toilets, add grills to the windows and revanish existing timber strip flooring. Kinda ... desperately in need of advise coz I'm juggling between reno in late Nov and church wedding + ROM in Feb 08. Realli appreciate the experiences you gals/ guys can provide. My email is esrina_cindy@hotmail.com if you can advise IDs. I found one quotation at the Sing Expo but according to other forums the contractor is not good :-(

I dun like uHome coz of the quality of their worksmanship.. the last time I went to one of their show flats, the tiles are so uneven, even though I have to other show flats also using the same type of tile with no such problem.

did no approach other 2 so no advise

nemo:

I dun quite like uHome. They gave me a quote which they implied they cannot do painting, cannot get kitchen door, etc. Basically anyhow quote & quote me sky high also.

As for Baroque, it depends on who u deal with. The guy who quoted me is so careless. First time leave out floor, 2nd time leave out kitchen cabinet surface (i.e. quote me cabinet without surface), then here mistake there mistake. If even the quote already so many mistake, how to trust them with my house.

No comments about Renozone cos I did not approach them.

Jean, Fifi

many thanks for your prompt reply.

I got the contact from a friend who did renov by uHome. I've been to his home, did realised tat floor not even too but still can acceptable. Overall, workmanship is still fine.

As for Baroque, i have not source them yet.

For Renozone, i already met up the ID thru' recommendation by a friend as well.

ANy recommendation on your ID?

Find quotes from Homeguide very expensive... quoted 60K whereas other IDs quoted around 50K. On top of that Kean is not very responsive and not initiative. Probably too many recommendation from Singapore Brides, therefore could not entertain our request.

Hi, peeps.
Me also looking for contractors, anyone here bot a resale flat thru ERA? heard they have their own contractors and if u buy house from an ERA agent, they will do it at a subsidised price. So any experience/advice? How much is a good budget to set aside for reno for a 5 room flat? Maybe jus to do up the dining, kitchen and toilet area with walk-in wardrobe? Thanks! btw, if there are cracks on the wall, shd i b concerned? it is a 5 room flat in Senja area and they say it is not structural but still if i buy that place, will it be a recurring prob? how much would it be to fix that up?

Hi...
I am selling away the new Hob(RB3VSV) & Hood(90ERi) as I don't have enough space for my surface area stuffs such as microwave oven.... And thus getting a smaller hob & hood... Its package is opened but is unused. I am letting it go at $560... Do let me know if you are interested... :-)
