Assistant Manager Cheryl Tang says, "Having a venue designated specially for wedding receptions helps couples enjoy their celebrations better. The event becomes more private."

And this sense of commitment shows up in the details. Take the décor of the banquet hall, which oozes classical, baroque-style luxury. Lighting up the vast expanse are intricate curvaceous lamps hanging from the ceiling, while the hall entrance is framed by an elegant archway embellished with colourful blooms. Creating a young and vibrant feel is an orange and beige palette, littered liberally with quirky geometric design elements.

Meanwhile, tables come in linen in the sunshine shade, contrasted with khaki-hued chair covers with eclectic touches such as Chinese cheongsam frog button and the Peranakan-inspired scallop hem.

With Ah Yat best known for its abalone dishes, it's little wonder that food is another of the restaurant's strongest attractions. All four yummy menus are created and prepared by a team led by a Hong Kong-trained chef. Each also falls within the reasonable price range of between $468 nett and $888 nett.

As an additional bonus, the package is crammed with goodies such as use of an 80-inch projector screen for video presentation as well as a full-length dance floor.
